Why do we sometimes not receive a TV signal? Unfortunately data degrades with distance. But why?

This resource explains how data degrades with distance and uses graphs to visualise the maths and science behind how data is transported from one device to another. Pupils will need to be able to accurately construct and interpret graphs in this resource. The graphs give the students information in binary code so the students will then have to convert the binary (base 2) into a standard number (base 10).

This activity successfully links the maths, science and ICT behind data and will help pupils understand why maths is so important in computer science.
